VIII Moscow International
Festival of Visual Anthropology
“MEDIATING CAMERA”
May – June, 2019
From 25 to 30 June, 2019, the VIII International Festival of Visual Anthropology Mediating Camera will be held at several venues in Moscow. The best films of the festival will be presented at the evening sessions at the Center for Documentary Films and the Cinema Hall of the Engineering Building of the State Tretyakov Gallery.
Mediating Camera shows films about the everyday life of people in different parts of the world, in the European metropolis and in the Asian medina.
… This is an invitation to step into the screen space of a faraway life, to feel the universality of the laws of human existence, the fragility and amazing closeness of the “alien”.
The concept of the festival, its goals and the principles of film selection are precisely expressed in the title “Mediating Camera”. This is, first of all, the ethical responsibility of a person with a camera in front of film characters and spectators who are invited to enter the unknown to them world and to experience the universality of the laws of human existence through the screen. The main program of the festival includes ten films and one special demonstration.
Till 31th of May you can watch films of the Debut Competition in the cinema room and to vote for films you think are the best!
